Overview
Hi!
My name is Léonie and I’m an agricultural engineering student at Institut Agro Rennes-Angers in France. As part of my degree, I had the opportunity to do a 5-month internship, and I chose to come to New Zealand.
Thanks to Derrick, I was welcomed into the FRC team, where I got to be involved in two projects: a wheat trial and the RADE project. It was a really rewarding experience, especially working alongside the team, master’s students and PhD students. The atmosphere is friendly – everyone is very welcoming, there’s never a dull moment, and the morning tea time is always a great time to catch up and share a few laughs.
This internship was also an amazing opportunity to explore New Zealand and its stunning landscapes. I even managed to do a two-week road trip over the end-of-year holidays, which was an unforgettable experience full of great discoveries.
I’m really grateful to have had the chance to live this adventure and would like to thank everyone I worked with for the warm welcome and all the great moments we shared.
