Intern 2025
Overview
Hello, my name is Eloi Decherf, I’m a third-year agricultural engineering student at UniLaSalle Beauvais in France. I had the opportunity to do a 17-week internship in New Zealand. From September to December 2025, I had the chance to assist teams working on wheat trial plots, as well as teams working in pastures with sheep.
Beyond the technical aspect, this experience was a real immersion in the land of the kiwi. I immediately felt part of a large multicultural group, made up of people from all over the world. I had the pleasure of working closely with Thinzar, Breanna and Luke, as well as several other PhD students, all under the supervision of Derrick.
The working atmosphere was particularly friendly, which facilitated daily exchanges and learning. In addition to my assignments, I had the opportunity to explore New Zealand to the fullest. I traveled around the South Island and North Island for two weeks, discovering incredible landscapes.
I am leaving with my head full of memories and having discovered a different working environment. I am very grateful for the warm welcome I received from the whole team.
